About the book:

Good Night Sleep Tight Workbook is the essential companion to the best selling book, Good Night Sleep Tight, by The Sleeplady, Kim West. The book includes a step-by-step guide for parents, is organized by age and by process, and is the key to sleep coaching success. The Workbook can be used as a standalone guide; includes an essential to do list, sleep plans, tear out sleep logs, sleep manner sticker charts and a certificate of completion for celebrating success - all the essentials needed to help tired parents with children of any age who are experiencing sleep problems.

My take on the book:

My wife and I read this book together as we've been dealing with sleep issues with our 19-month-old daughter from our first day home from the hospital. We were concerned at first when we got this book and saw it was a companion workbook to another West book. However, we were relieved to see that this workbook works as a stand-alone as well.

We both felt it provided excellent practical advice and gave simple easy to follow, step-by-step solutions. There is a discussion of common sleep issues and solutions to specific challenges. In our case, although our daughter's sleep is vastly improved, we have been trying to avoid and wean our daughter from night time nursing. We also wanted to avoid using the "cry out" method as well. It was very nice to see step-by-step guides for gradual changes so using the "cry out" method could be avoided.

Other tools in the book include sleep logs, list of additional resources, safe sleep recommendations and also a list of common sleep situations in a troubleshooting section.

Although we were vastly better off than in previous months in terms of our daughter's sleep, this was still worth reading for us as it gave additional information but also confirmed some of the things we were doing. This is definitely worth checking out if you're still dealing with your child's sleep issues no matter their age.
